Vitcas BFC-Black Fire Cement is a smooth paste that when exposed to the air leaves rock hard. Fire Cement has outstanding adhesion for fire bricks, blockwork, mortar, clayware, and most metals. Cracks of less than 5 mm and seals to create smoke and gas close joints are mainly useful for limited repair work.
Ensure the area is clean and that all dirt, dust, rust, and grease are removed. Cut off the top of the pot. Dampen the surface where the material is to be applied. Apply using a cartridge gun. The material will set at room temperatures but the time will be reduced by lighting the fire or applying heat, gradually increasing over a four-hour period.
